Friday Spotlight: The Punderful Life of Mandy Salas
Meet the Good Day LA star of the national entertainment beat for Fox Television Stations.
Amanda Salas is a television news star rising sidelined temporarily by cancer, chemo, and recovery. A talented broadcaster by any measure, Mandy rose to industry acclaim on the strength of her puns, becoming a morning fixture on Good Day LA for her red carpet interviews and “Punderful Celebrity Relationship Forecast.”
Mandy’s interviews with celebrities soon moved from the red carpets of awards shows and movie premiers to the studio. Movie stars of the highest order admire Amanda.
Tom Hanks calls her “Lady Amanda.”
Samuel L. Jackson says Salas is “clever.”
“Latina on the Scene-a” is how Amanda has described herself, a slick phrase Salas may or may not have trademarked.
“Winetineray” is our favorite Mandy interview so far.
We also love “Aquamanda.”
“Woody” is an excellent interview, too.
It was Amanda’s final interview before a tumor was discovered in her neck. Barely a month had passed since Amanda’s career soared to new heights in the upper reaches of the entertainment beat when FOX Television Stations created a national entertainment reporter team. Amanda and four dudes were tapped to be the new team’s flagship correspondents on the beat for FOX.
Amanda Salas needs to be back on-air. She rose on her merits as an interviewer, breaking through from local megatalent on the top local morning news show in Los Angeles to rising superstar on a coveted national beat. Mandy’s social media posts have inspired many during her months of chemotherapy treatments.
We look forward to the next punderful celebrity interview series by Amanda Salas as soon as she’s ready to go back to work.
