CNN Poaches Top Washington Producer From Univision
Her name is Julia Vargas Mondragon and she is a Latina bad ass 🇨🇴
Many thanks to the tipster who brought us the news that Julia Vargas Mondragon, Washington producer for Univision, has been poached by CNN en Español.
As every Latinx newser on the White House, Congress, or really any high-profile beat in Washington will tell you, Julia has been a fixture in the Beltway’s political press since her early days producing at Colombian television network NTN24.
Since then Julia has become one of the top producers in Washington news — reliable, professional, deadline-driven, all while being a fun and unapologetically Latina newser to be around.
A proud Colombiana herself, Julia will finish her masters degree in journalism next year at Georgetown University, having previously studied at Harvard, Syracuse, and the University of California-Berkeley.
With so much education and so many skills, we anticipate a bright future for Julia, a millennial who, despite her youth, is already one of the top television news producer in Washington.
Felicidades, Julia! Keep slaying, colega!
Lastly — WE APOLOGIZE to CNN for a mistake in our last post in which we incorrectly stated that Jacqueline Hernandez worked a public relations coordinator for CNN Original Series. Hernandez was a public relations coordinator for CNN. Many thanks to CNN’s communications team for clarifying.
